New Konsise Release: EMP201 Submissions, Billing Reports & Dashboard Upgrades
We are excited to share some significant updates from our latest Konsise release (Version 19.11.0), which went live on 4 April. This version introduces key enhancements designed to make your tax compliance process smoother and more efficient, focusing on EMP201 submissions and improved reporting. Here's a quick overview of what's new and why it matters:
New Features
1. EMP201 Submissions (Now Live in Konsise!)
You can now submit your EMP201 returns directly through Konsise.
This is a big step forward, but there are a few important limitations to be aware of due to constraints on the SARS side:
- ETI Indicator: This indicator defaults to “Y” on the submission form. SARS has confirmed a change is coming to allow it to default to “No,” but in the meantime, submissions will show “Y.”
- Payment Reference Number: This will only appear after completing the submission. We’ve adjusted the front end to make this as clear and seamless as possible.
- SOA (Statement of Account): We’re not yet able to automatically request an SOA for EMP201s. You’ll need to request it via eFiling to reflect the submission status within Konsise. We’re working with SARS to enable this functionality and will keep you posted on progress.
2. EMP201 Nil Bulk Submissions
This is a huge time-saver! You can now submit Nil returns in bulk. This is particularly useful for clients managing multiple entities with inactive EMP201 periods.
Note: The same limitations above apply here too.
3. IRP6 Billing Report for Individuals
We’ve introduced a downloadable billing report for individual IRP6 submissions, designed for practices using Caseware Time.
While Konsise doesn’t integrate directly with Caseware, this report can be manually uploaded to trigger billing workflows.
This feature includes all the required fields and was built based on direct feedback from tax practices needing this functionality.
Improvements & Fixes
- Dashboards: We've updated our VAT Exceptions dashboard to include all entities, not just those that are integrated. This helps track compliance across entities in other countries.
- Client Communications: Several minor fixes from our Version 2 release have been addressed to improve the user experience.
- Client Number in Groupings: You’ll now see client numbers reflected when grouping, which ties into the new billing report functionality.
- Menu Updates: We’ve refreshed sub-menus to align with new dashboard structures and improve navigation clarity.
Bug Fixes
We've also addressed some bugs in the Client Grouping functionality to ensure smoother performance and more accurate results.
If you’d like to see a demo of these new features or have questions about how they can be applied to your tax workflows, I’d be happy to walk you through it. We're also communicating closely with SARS and will notify you as soon as their planned EMP201 service improvements go live.
Thanks as always for being part of the Konsise community. We’re committed to continuously improving your tax compliance experience.
